The above picture is from a Golden Wedding anniversary cake I decorated for two of my favourite friends. The flowers and the fairies were made with icing sugar and I have been able to keep the top tier for about 5 years. The petals are paper thin and extremely fragile. Unfortunately with time, they have become discoloured and because they are very brittle some of the petals have broken.
This is something that wont happen with ceramics. We can choose a piece and design a style that is personal to you and your friends. You will not be just giving a gift but a timeless keepsake with memories of their special day.
